Default 5.2 idles good for 1/2 hr.

2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 idles good for 1/2 hr. then idles fast and slow, stalls, shuts down. No codes and I have fixed and checked all I know to do. Does any one have any clue what is going on with Dodge. Can not believe that there is no one in the internet world that knows how to work on a Dodge

(fuel pump, spark plugs, rotor, wires, cardone reman distributor, mass air flow sensor, throttle position sensor, alternator, coil and removed o2 sensor off pipe line, check all connections

Your truck doesn't have a MAF sensor. It has a map sensor, right on the front of the throttle body. Check the rubber elbow that connects from the TB, to the sensor. They like to dry out, and leak.

Either that, or something is getting hot, and failing.

Default Ecm

Had a buddy have the same issue with a ford van. The problem came down to the ecu/ecm. It would not start up some times others it would start fine but then fail to idle after warming up. The solder points in the unit was going bad and in the cold mornings would need to use an hairdryer to warm up the box so it would start. If it was really hot it would start fine but later in the day it would start to idle bad and shutdown, would pop the hood wait awhile and it would start again.. He bought a reman computer and the problem was solved.
