Has anyone ever had good luck finding a remanufactured gearbox that was goos with no slop? If so where did you get it? I have been thru 4 from AutoZone brand was endurance1 all were crap.

Redhead, or Borgeson. Anything else is really a crap shoot, and the 'rebuilt' box you get, may be worse than what you are replacing. Granted, they aren't cheap, but, you do indeed get what you pay for.

I bought a Borgeson and I wouldn't do it again. The first one they sent me was bad right out the box and leaking at the top. After having to pay to ship it back to them, they did send me another one that looked like absolute crap. You could see they'd held the spline with pliers, the box looked beat up, etc. I did install it and it did work, but it doesn't work any better than the factory box and for the price I paid, I feel like I should have ended up with something a bit nicer than I did.

That said, I have no experience with any brands other than the OEM one and the Borgeson, so I can't recommend another company. I just know I won't be buying a Borgeson again.
