The dyno uses a friction brake to measure torque...... so, yeah, that's gonna generate some heat. Gale went to a fair bit of trouble to put additional cooling down there for the brakes. The dyno is designed for short runs, to measure power output, not to be used to put a load on the driveline under continuous duty.........

Well, one would think he'd have known that ahead of time. Plus, what's defined as "a short run"? Three minutes? 90 seconds? Also note that the earlier videos showed the crew was running a truck on the dyno to measure fluid temperatures at highway speeds. The only way that would have been possible is having had the vehicle operating on the dyno in excess of five minutes.

There is a follow-up video, which I won't post, with the same vehicle on the dyno after the additional cooling has been installed. The reason I won't post the video is because it's over 1-hour long. Suffice to say, it appears Gene and the crew have solved the problem with the dyno running too hot.

I put this one on my excursion when the stock on rusted through. Hard to beat for $50, and everyone says don't get parts from the stealership. LOL

Final chapter is out on this. The other manufacturers must be crying a river. Looks like they addressed the fins hanging down in the air flow too.

"Asshats"....LMAO. "Before you copy me again, it's patented, so pump the brakes!" hahahaha

Yeah, the other guys built something to empty people's wallets, not to actually improve the design. Good to see Banks and Amsoil working together. They both make great products.

If anyone is interested, Gale dropped another video on 12/30 showing more data on the different cover styles. Still waiting for him to release the covers for Dana 60/70 axles.
