Alright so I've had my 96 1500 since 2012. Its a beast. Pretty quick little truck acceleration wise. I can stomp the gas and light it up, at least. I can definitely whip it around, and have. I have the 5.9 and a 6.5' bed, SLT model
now my brothers truck is a 01 1500, 5.9, 4wd, lifted, 8' bed. His truck is a straight dog. You might as well not even try to push it because you accelerate just as fast as if you ease into the gas. Lmao.
does the 4wd, lift, and 8' bed really make it THAT much slower?

Something must've changed after OBD2 because I've read way too many stories about older trucks having tons of power and newer ones not. Plus we have deathflash to deal with. Plus if he's got bigger tires that will hurt as well, although not as bad as some think. Some trucks are just slow. Some can spin tires. Be thankful you have a good one. Mine is pretty moody, which is why she's a girl. Some days she runs great, others I could drive her into a ditch and walk away happy.
