Thank you for the info and I will need to look into it. The ultrasound ones I purchased don't seem to work. I have two in the cab and the peanut butter in the traps are still being eaten. Maybe I should eliminate the traps and just keep the ultrasound units, but then there is no way of knowing whether or not the critters are still inside the truck.

Gonna look at the Vectors today and get a couple.

A couple of you guys recommended the water bucket method and shared videos - thank you for doing so. I've seen these before and they seem to be the least expensive and most effective way to get rid of rodents. As much as I hate these critters and seen the damage they can do, I want them dead quickly and humane. Drowning them is too slow for me personally, but I am debating whether of not to spend $50 +/- on one of those electrical zap units or give the ones you all suggested a try. I've already spent $50 on two ultrasound units which don't seem to work. Traps with peanut butter only caught me two mice, but there must be smaller ones in there that are not setting off the traps, so the beat goes on ...

The Victor traps with a curled metal tab are the best. Moosh (<---fancy technical term) some peanut butter into the curl then break a piece of toothpick off sticking out 1/4 inch or so. They can't resist gnawing it and SNAP, gets them every time.

Hmmm ... I'll have to try using a toothpick with the peanut butter. At this point, I'm trying to figure a way to put a cam in the truck to see what I'm dealing with and where they are coming from.

It's hunting season. Get a game camera and set it up inside. The focal length might be a little close though. I prefer the snap traps just as a matter of conscience. I don't want the little cheese thieves to suffer, just go away. Poison works but it's slow and not a good death. Plus, if the mouse isn't dead yet, it still has poison in it and if Spot or Fluffy eat it before it dies, the dog or cat may go too. Add in the possibility of bad Karma, well, I don't like to see suffering.

As of now, I do have 2 USB cams I want to use before spending more money. I'm thinking of running an extension cord to a power strip and setting up both cams in the truck, which I can monitor on my tablet. These critters must be real small not to set off the traps and their droppings are real tiny, so that's what I'm up against as far as I know right now. But I did stick tooth picks in the peanut butter like suggested and we will see what happens. With the cams in the truck, I can also (hopefully) see where they're coming from and where they're going, which will be helpful.

The battle goes on ... lol

At least they are little. Something kept emptying my bird feeder. When it got into my kitchen, I got out the heavy duty traps.

I was going to show what I caught but can't seem to upload it.

Thinking too hard on this one guys... for less than $5 you can pick up a pair of traps that do the job, every time. Victor M142S, walmart and tactor supply has them.. They don't false trigger, and it is impossible for the critters to get the peanut butter out unless there is a dead mouse in the trap already. I'm on 4 wooded acres, with an old shed that isn't tight enough to keep the mice out. Once the weather changes and goes cold, we get them inside that shed. I just put those traps down and dump the dead ones until they are all gone, then I'm good all winter. Someday I'll fix that shed, but its easy enough to knock down the population with these traps and allow me to procrastinate working on that shed.

I found the issue with uploading pictures. This is what was getting my bird seed and wandering around in my kitchen at night. I'll take mice anytime. Had two of these. Momma was actually rather docile. Ecidently she'd been trapped before. A baby the next night, wasn't.
