Is it an ORE ?


Just bought this last week. I contacted Dodge to try to get a build sheet for it. 2001 1500 4dr quad cab 360 4x4 85,000 miles.

I think the only undamaged part is the right rear door. How do I search for southern trucks or body parts. 2wd body is the same as 4wd ? I'm struggling with searching for a different body. I'm not sure how to go about it. Internet isn't my strong point. LOL. I'm guessing buying a whole truck will be cheaper than individual parts.

 

More tire, less rim. And not sticking out so far.

A couple ideas of where we'd like to go with the build. It's going to be my wife's truck.

 

I thought I already answered this, but yes, it has the hallmarks of the ORE. Jack up the rear and count rotations to confirm 4.10.

But to make it look like those pictures you'll need Dana 60 swaps, built trans or NV4500 swap, built engine, etc, etc. Wrong truck for that build. Those are Cummins 2500s.

 

Yes you did. I thought I'd start a new thread for the new truck. I'm not home so I couldn't go out and look at it to confirm what you said. Hey You gave me a link to get the build sheet. It is indeed an ORE. We don't want to go as big as those pictures, probably 33-35 inch tires. We'd maybe like EQ heads, cam, and tune. Maybe a Sonnax Sure Cure kit for the tranny.. I'm not a cummins lover.

 

Oh, 33-35 would be perfect. Those huge trucks are ridiculous! What are those, 37? 40? Anyway, glad you confirmed the ORE and you should have a good build then. Nothing to do to the axles for 35s just slap 'em on. Maybe a small lift but with the right wheels and offset, you could put them on. Trouble with lifts on ORE, you basically negate the factory 2" lift. So a 3" lift nets you 1"; a 5" nets you 3". But you can very easily run 33s on stock lift and probably 35s. Have fun!

Our kids have a 3rd gen with 37s. Even they think it's too big. Can't even get it in their garage to work on it. I try to build with practicality. We want a little cockier look and more performance but don't want to wreck drivability. It needs new tires. We were thinking 285 or 315/17s.


are a couple I looked at. I have the ltx ms2 on our 95 and our Excursion.

 

I have 285s and have run them over ten years with three sets and while they look better, it only just compliments the trucks size. It doesn't give it the lifted look. I would say go for 305 or even 315 on 17s. Would be a good ratio of sidewall to wheel diameter. Only brands I would trust anymore is Michelin or bfg (same company). I love my KO2s.
