Radiator not building pressure. It could be the cap or a leak somewhereOriginally Posted by Annette Manning

Coolant doesn't circulate thru the overflow bottle. As the coolant warms up, it expands, pressure is regulated by the radiator cap, to much pressure, it will vent some off to the overflow bottle. Then, when the engine cools, it will draw coolant back in, from the overflow bottle. That's why it's marked "full cold" and "Full hot". If the level isn't changing, then yeah, bad cap, or a leak.

Appreciate the info...makes sense...and replacing the cap resolved issue! Originally Posted by HeyYou
