1998 Ram 1500 the coolant is not cycling from overflow jug to radiator.
what would cause the overflow jug to not circulate coolant?

Radiator not building pressure. It could be the cap or a leak somewhere

Coolant doesn't circulate thru the overflow bottle. As the coolant warms up, it expands, pressure is regulated by the radiator cap, to much pressure, it will vent some off to the overflow bottle. Then, when the engine cools, it will draw coolant back in, from the overflow bottle. That's why it's marked "full cold" and "Full hot". If the level isn't changing, then yeah, bad cap, or a leak.

Appreciate the info...makes sense...and replacing the cap resolved issue!
