I have a 2001 5.9 ram 1500 sport throughing the 0601 pcm code. The truck runs great ,no probs. The light comes on every time i start the truck. I get it up to 60 and let of gas and light goes out every time and dosnt come back on til i shut off and restart. Does that mean pcm is bad ? Dont want to buy new pcm if it could be something simple. Anybody have any knowledge on this issue?

 

The 0601 is a memory fault in the PCM. Only fix is replacement. However...... given that it isn't really causing you any trouble.... I might be tempted to just leave it. If you want to fix it, check with your local parts stores for a replacement PCM. They come VIN-flashed already, and if there is a problem, you can talk to a real person, face to face.
