Default Best shorty header for 01 ram 1500 318

I would like to know which headers y’all recommend for my truck the manifolds are very rusty and pitted so sooner or later they will leak, but I’ve had shorty headers on my Jeep and it cracked and it was a banks one so has anyone had any issues with any I see summit has a 200$ one and they go to like 500$ for the pricier ones. And do they glow when warming up because with my body lift that’ll look cool in my Jeep they glowed red. I am trying to do things for the best price so if the summit one would work I’ll be happy but if I’d have to get a 500$ set I’ll bother with that later.

well the summit ones are plain steel they recommend some sort of paint I guess I’d fined a clear coat that takes that much heat, but if the 200$ ones hold up fine for a over 5 years I’ll be happy.

The ceramic coated fellers, so long as they are coated INSIDE, and out, will last the life of the truck. Granted, they are rather high-dollar, but, how often do you want to do the job, and how long do you plan on keep the truck?

well I got it for 1200$ And I won’t spend over 5k on it in modifying so I couldn’t sell it because nobody would pay 6k for a old truck on 37s so I intend to keep it till the frame and body rust apart. I saw that some say the la 318 long tubes can fit on my mag 5.2l cause I could get some ceramic ones and long tubes then I’d get more torque then shortys at a higher rpm but not to high for off-road at least according to the dynos I’ve found.

You can get them ceramic coated I don't believe you can do it yourself. But when you get quoted on it you might as well buy them already coated

Got mine with ceramic coating.
Been running them for 7yrs now... still looking good.
It’s hard to say what gains are attributed to the headers, as I did a handful of mods at the same time... and I’m yet to do H&S1.7’s and/or a cam to get more air in/out (to see real gains everything needs to be balanced/complimentary).
Would I get them again?... definitely.

A guy on another forum got those stainless headers on ebay(believe they where long tubes though) that lasted past 5 years with out any issues(or rust).
