Default Tired leaf springs

My truck, a ‘99 1500 5.9 auto, 4x2 has spent much of its life towing trailers back and forth between California and Texas. This said the rear suspension has gotten a bit tired to say the least.
does anyone here use airbags with weight distribution hitch?
I have considered changing rear springs for either factory replacement (everything I’ve read says they are 1740#) or 2100# springs. That said my wife likes the way the truck rides and says it’s rather stiff with the weight distribution bars set to keep everything level. Which in order to do I have to use 800-1200# bars instead of 600-800# to get the weight back to the front, my TW is only 594# just short of 600. I don’t load hardly anything in the bed when we head out either. I figure the bags will help soften things without a permanent increase in ride stiffening.
So does anyone here use WDH with air bags? If so what is the CORRECT way to set both systems up to work together?
