Porsche made the first hybrid, back in 1899...... No idea if it was sold in the US.....

As far as I know, it wasn't. It was sort of the first 4X4, but it was so expensive to build, they didn't sell many. The American hybrid was a small company trying to stay in business. It failed soon after but did build and sell cars in the U.S. No, American wasn't the name, just where it was located.

Goodness, it looks like I stumped everybody.

In 1914, the Woods Dual Power was introduced ad sold in 1915-16. Woods didn't last long.
