Default Eliminating interior plastic texture

94, 95, 97, 99 Dodge Truck.
Hi, I was wondering if some of you have tried to eliminate the texture in the dash and door panels? I want to smooth out what I have because it is really tough to clean, and gets dirty very easily no matter what I do, so I don't know if it can be sanded, primed and painted or maybe sanded and then covered in polyester resin and then painted or a skim coat of filler then painted, what is the best action to take? Thanks: Tad

What are you doing that gets your truck so dirty? Maybe stop doing that? (kidding.)

Might try using a different cleaner. Maybe clean the snot out of it, then hit it with some variety of wax? Even furniture polish might do it. Make it easier to clean at least.

Well, we live in the dirt, a mile of dirt driveway everything farmed 10 years of drought, lots and lots of dirt and dust and the only way to get it really clean is to pressure wash it, that is the only thing that gets the dirt out of the crevasses in the Mist Grey.. I need to do something with the door panels as well, they are quite sunburnt so I guess I will start there and see what happens. Maybe an Acetone based paint like lacquer or polyurethane will adhere to the plastic. I will need to try a spot on the back someplace and see what happens. Thanks Tad

I live on the corner of two dirt roads. But, it's more dust than anything. Just wipes off.

Getting rid of the texture can be done two ways.
Sand it smooth or fill it with plastic puffy until smooth.
