Default Fuel and fuel milage

So I figured I’d get everyone’s take. How’s everyone doing on fuel? It’s $4.19 here and takes about $115 to fill from 1/8 tank.

mines a 3rd gen but I have the 5.9 46re combo….so my truck 02 1500 4x4 quad cab 4 door with 8 foot bed with 165k…I have the overhead meter and have been logging my estimated MPGs…

back and forth to work (3/4 straight shot, 1/4 is stop and go) including idle warmup time I average 9.7-10.5mpgs,

if I reset meter and do not include idle time or stop and go, cruising at 55-65mph I get 15.5-16.5mpgs.

not including idle time with stop and go I average about 12mpgs.

But one trip back and forth to work is $15….now all week just going to work and back 5 days I spend about $75 in fuel……thankfully I have my Harley and I get about 35-40mpgs with that lol…

gas prices suck

Yeah, when your truck is idling, you are getting zero miles per gallon.... Mine has an 8.0 in it, so, I simply can't afford to let it sit and idle. I get in, start it up, drive it away, and let it warm up as I drive......

I’ve always done that… just go easy on the gas and drive slow until the temp gauge starts to move.

Not to get political but i find it fascinating that the US is giving away 13.6 billion dollars to Ukraine but can't do anything about the gas prices. It's unfortunate whats happening but we shouldn't have to pay for it. I seriously doubt we got that much oil from USSR!

On the political note I agree, Biden doesn’t know what he’s doing, he’s done nothing good since in office, cant even make a clear speech without fumbling over his words…..the guys is a joke and has no idea what he’s doing

there’s plenty of fuel resources outside of Russia but in Biden’s run for presidency he said he would not touch our reserves, now that we need them he’s sticking to his word (only thing he’s stayed true to) and not touching them in turn we have to pay the price

People on the blue side want handouts, us real men and women work for our things….no offense, but Democrats have ruined America

And we are exporting more oil than ever..... Instead of keeping our prices reasonable.... It's all about record profits for the oil companies.

Lately I have been getting about 10 MPG in my 02 2500 Quad cab 2wd based on my hand calculation, because I don't have the overhead console. My leveling kit and 285s probably dont help either.

Buy a semi, then it's fun to fill your pick up and anything over 6 MPG in winter is awesome.
