Clunk/knocking sound (not shifting into reverse)
Wondering if anybody has heard this noise. Don't think it's normal but could be wrong. I'm aware of the clunk while going into reverse. No worries there. When backing up, there is a knocking/clunk sound every 3-4 seconds. Not accelerating. Just rolling backwards. When I accelerate it seems to go away. Is it possible it's a little too much play in a U-joint and when I accelerate, it kinda cleans up the play? Tried looking it up everywhere and always get the "shifting into reverse clunk". Any info would be appreciated!
Edit: 01 Ram 1500 5.2L 318 Sport. 1.7 roller rockers. 50mm throttle body, 3" PA body lift, 5" RC suspension lift, 37" BF AT. 2500 HD leaf springs, Bilstein shocks all around, etc. Not sure if this all matters, but worth noting. It DID make the noise prior to any of the mods. I am aware of the axle situation riding on 37s. At this point, it's a pavement queen. Hadn't been driven in years and trying to get her running. Just using it for fun and cruising around.

Thought that would be a good starting point. Truck has sat since 2018. Changed the fluids out and started throwing a code. Replaced the crankshaft position sensor and she fired up. Drove around a little yesterday and remembered that beautiful knocking sound in reverse lol. Thanks!
