Default 2000 Ram 1500 Single Cab Shorty V6 2WD TO A 12V CUMMINS?

So i picked up a pretty cool truck today. 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 single cab 2wd v6 auto with only 113k original miles, clean carfax and title, no rust. in good shape other than the typical dodge paint that's 25 yrs old.
I was wanting opinions and input on this from fellow car guys, don't have too many locally, on doing a 12v or 24v conversion w/ transmission. I would think it would be fairly simple if we bought a donor truck and transplanted the powertrain. Maybe i am completely wrong here?
Isn't the real estate available under the hood and under the truck enough to do that? I will post more pics, i literally just got it home! regardless what we do to it, it's a cool truck. maybe scrap the whole cummins thing, and lower it and put a HEMI in it? thoughts? thanks in advance.

Why do you want a diesel? A 5.2/5.9 would be the easiest.

Diesel is one heavy hunk of iron, that the 1500 suspension will struggle with.....

Sounds like a pretty cool find. Possibilities could be endless depending on your budget and time. What are you wanting from the truck? That would help determine which route to go. For the sport truck style, I've come across a couple hellcat swapped single cabs that move pretty quick and sound fantastic.

Oh, yeah, that WOULD be FUN....... But, likely a LOT more power than you should really have in a truck.
