got a 2000 1500 ram 5.9 bought off the lot replaced the engine at 210,000 about a year ago or so, maybe two. i could pull up to the light and spray the girl next to me with oil. super sick, worked every time. i replaced it with a motor i think had around 60k. but i've replaced almost everything. third tranny. tons of ball joints and wheel bearings mostly, and don't forget u-joints. snapped the pinion a bit ago and just replaced the whole rear end with one i had in the yard from a parts truck i bought. i've replaced drivelines, axles in the front, 4x4 front axle actuator, transfer case (cracked that in half), bumpers, a fender, steering box, tie rods, sway bar links, steering column, link bar, pretty much whole front end.

2001 Ram 1500 5.9 V8
43,000 miles (previous owner was an old farmer that pretty much just parked it in his barn, I bought it with 32,000) door was sprung, but I bent it back and is fine and had a loose pully once... Other than that, no problems and none with previous owner to my knowledge. Regular maintenance and playing nice helps too.

absolut ram, your lucky!!! i just got my truck one month ago and its been going back and forth to teh shop and dealer.

2001 black ram 1500 sport 115483 miles: had all teh ball joints and u-joitns replaced, new shocks, new tires, pinion seal leak, needs a transmission pump, tranny is slipping, cracked dash.

your lucky, the dealer would not put new ball joints and u-joints on mine. or shocks. they said they wer fine. i took my truck to 2 mecahnics and they both said i needed new ball joints u-joints adn shocks. redicuoulous. my truck is in teh shop as we speak getting a tranny pump. i put around 1600$ for repairs since i gto it a month ago.

1996 SLT 5.9 2WD with 173k miles (may 2010)

New Radiator
New Water Pump
Rebuilt Tranny (46RE)
Repainted Hood, Cab and front grille (next is bumpers)
Cat Delete
New Ball Joints
New Rotors/Front Wheel Bearings

Next on the list:
New front suspension bushings
New headliner
New wheels/tires

I've had this truck since 1998 and put 130k (+ the 40k the PO put on it) miles on it myself. For 12 years of service, the small list of parts is a VERY small price to pay. I couldn't ask for a more dependable vehicle. She is not a show truck, but she is dependable!
