How many miles do you have on your truck!
218,536
2500 4x4 - 1996 Longbed
V-10
I bought it from the guy that picked it up when it had 63,000 on it - he says it's still the same transmission???? what 47RE I believe.. It was used as a work truck for him and it was rode hard!
Couldn't be the stock tranny - 200k plus miles..... hmmmmm....
Not sure what he had done - i have done plugs, wires, some refrig for the AC - had a Motorvac done on it to clear a stumbling injector. Worked Great!
Runs great so far - considering a tranny service and band tightening but that is for another post.....
Love the truck - hoping for 300k plus out of that damn V10.....

Bought it brand new August of '95. Over it's life I've had to:
replace a pinion bearing in the rear axle @ 60k
new clutch @ 100k
new cat, (after market, also added Dynomax muffler) @ 80k
replace ignition switch 3 times ( tab on the lock cylinder keeps breaking off - aftermarket)
2 idler arms
1 pitman arm
done the ball joints 3 times
control arm bushings ( to keep down the squeaks)
new radiator, water pump, hoses @ 220k
EGR replaced @120k but code still shows up, any ideas what to try next?
everything else is original and runnin strong (starter, alternator, engine, tranny, etc...), so you can see why I love my Dodge Ram!

148k, 1998 laramie 4 x 4, 360. Had it since new. Have replaced the speed sensor in transmission and the one in the diff, timing chain cover gasket, radiator, heater core, catalytic converter, rear wheel cylinders, master cylinder, and the trans at 132k. Have done plugs, wires and other regular maintenance stuff. Running great now. Considering doing the plenum fix and 02 sensor. Has been a pretty good truck. I would brag on it more if the trans hadn't failed.
1996 Dodge Ram: Had it from 98K-155K. Traveled from Oklahoma to NY, then back to oklahoma, then to california where its final resting place was a junkyard in Salinas. Transfer case went on it...so I bought this
