Default custom console - warning lots of pics

I started a thread about this about 2 months ago and I updated it as I went, but it has slowly died out and is very messy because of all the comments.
I just got it back today from the upholsterer so here is the whole there from start to finish. Sorry for all the pics and a couple of them being blurry.

The stock 40/20/40 center jump seat everyone is familiar with

I started out by taking out the center jump seat

Then, I made a cardboard model to see how it would look and fit. I got the shape idea from RamSport97

Next, I made a model on the computer with the measurements. This was all one piece all the other lines are there for reference points

Next, when I bought the wood (more details will be in material list at the end) I cut out the sides first and then figured out the measurements of the other pieces and began to put it together. As for notches on the bottom that fit around the original seat bracket, those are just a preference I marked them from the inside then cut them out. I put it back as far as possible without hitting my sub box. You could also make them deeper so you can lower the console.

I continued to finish putting it together and put in a cup holder insert

And then I waited, and waited for a friend who is an upholsterer to pick it up and upholster it. He picked it up Tuesday and dropped it off today.

So now it's all done. I still need to secure it. But, finished building it.

Many people on here said it looks to high. But I think it is the "right" height for me. I have a 7" flip-out radio and It's just the right height for me to touch the screen.

Please leave your opinion and if you have any questions feel free to ask. I can take any other pictures if wanted.

Looks real good, is it just an open box on the inside or is there some compartments?

It's just an open box. There is a false floor 6" from the bottom so I can get to the mounts. I plan on adding something to the inside as far as compartments but, I'm waiting to see how it works out, without them.

Wow. That turned out really well.... Is it at the right height to play armrest while you are driving? Gonna stain the exposed wood by the cup holder?

Nice Job.

yeah the height it right for me, I think. For a better idea, it's a little shorter then if you had your arm out the window. Not sure what to do about the wood yet. I will either wrap that like the rest, stain it, or paint it. I have to do the inside too. The vinyl is just about 2" on the inside and then stapled, so I'm debating on what to do as far as those 2 things.

Thanks, I actually just pulled it out of the attic of the garage after a year of collecting dust since I sold my '98.
Trying to figure out what I'm doing inside my 95 reg cab short bed cummins, probably going to use this.
