my bumper was rotted/rotting out, and a local 5-0 was harassing me about it having "sharp edges" saying it wouldnt pass inspection, which is bull.

also because the trailer plug was in the bumper, and A LOT easier to plug a trailer plug in straight, rather than sideways like our trucks are currently configured.

well got the bumper installed today. its not totally done. i need to make stronger mounts for it as it wobbles around a bit.

onto some pics.

heres the bumper with my old one behind it.

here is my hitch, with the start of some of the mounting holes, and lines marking where the brakets need to go.

here are the brackets. when the bumper is centered the brackets need to be 9" long. my brackets are 15" long total, so i could have 6" of metal to bolt to my hitch.

lastly, the bumper mounted!

like i said, its not totally finished yet. gotta do something to stiffen it up a bit. other than that. i need to get the plate lights wired up, and its done!

its a work truck, what more do you want?? haha

no its actually just the bed thats in poor shape. all the dents that you see are from the previous owner.

rest of truck looks ok, minus the typical door rust.......

I only asked because typically the tailgate gets the worst beating of any of the body, so I didn't ant to jump to assumptions My tailgate was the ugliest sheetmetal on my truck until I replaced it. You still planning to address that door rust any time soon?
