Default NEED HELP ASAP!!!

need help asap i think i know the problem but im REALLLLLLY praying its not what i think it is. Driving home from work today from a stop light, got up to like 10 mph then my truck made a weird noise slipped a little then caught. Just ignored it no biggie. Then 3 lights later froma dead stop hit the gas and it just free revs. **** my pants a little, pull it down to 1 and then it goes fine. get to the next stop sign happens again. I think i already know what everyones gonna say that my tranny is kaput. its a 2000 dodge 1500 sport with 4x4, with 96k miles. Can the tranny be shot that quick? if a tranny is starting to slip can i do anything to save it? tranny flush and filter change? Im hoping to god its not a major thing because i just bought the truck last week. and if it is my tranny seeing as how im on VERY limited budget is it cheaper to get it rebuilt or get a junk yard tranny? or does someone on here have a tranny for cheap?
