Removing the Axle Bolt
I am changing the front hubs on my 1997 Dodge, and have gotten the wheels off, and taken the cotter pin out, and am now to the axle bolt, at least that is what I call it, not to sure what the proper name is. I know this is supposed to be tightened to 175 pounds of torque, but holy crap I can't get this thing off. I used a ratched, and a breaker bar, me and another guy jumped on it at the same time, nothing. I put liquid wrench all over it, still nothing. I got an impact wrench, still nothing. This is the same for both the passenger and driver sides. Any tips on getting the bolt off? I don't want to end up having to torch it. Thanks.

Put the tire back on with a couple of lugs. Drop it back on the ground and let the weight of the truck anchor the hub. I got mine off using only a 24" breaker bar. A little WD-40 presoak wouldn't hurt if they have a lot of funk on them though.
Try some candle wax. Just heat the nut enough to wick the wax into the threads. Doesn't have to be super hot. Just enough to melt the candle. Supposedly the candle wax wicks farther into the threads than penetrating oil.
Sounds crazy, but, that's how the old farmers do it around here.
