Passenger wheel locks up very easy...
Hey all,
This is my first problem post. I have a 2000 ram quad cab 4x4 5.9 auto with RWALB only. My front passenger tire always locks up before the others. It locks up even when i'm not braking hard or even more so when i'm in a parking lot and stop kinda quickly ( I get alot of glares from people). It seems to be getting worse too. Also, the tire is wearing out more so than the others. Ball joints were just replaced 3K ago.I havent put her up and looked at her yet. Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks!!

Dirt, grease or oil on (at least) one of the pads.
When it rains ... it pours. 3 brakes grabbing problems in one night.
Contaminated linings ... #1 cause.

Thanks for the ideas. Yeah this is a constant problem. Doesnt matter if i'm first starting off or 20 min into a drive. And yeah its MUCH worse in the rain. Doesnt help that it has Michelin tires which are horrible in the rain. I'll try to take a look at this weekend, but i'm on call for work so i'm not getting my hopes up. Thanks guys!

My front brakes will lock up super easy if my truck has sat when its raining, but it goes away after I use the brakes two or 3 times.

Well I finally got to look at the brakes ( only 2 months after i wanted to)
. Both calipers were shot but the right was the worse off. The pins were locked up and the piston boots were worn out. The rotors were also REALLY thin on the back side. So new pads, rotors and calipers and it stops perfect. Thanks for the suggestions.

Well its back. Not as bad as before but it is locking up again. I'm looking at it fri night after work. My dad suggested to look at the rears and make sure those are working right. How can I tell if the lines are bad. I checked them when i bled the brakes and there was no cracking on them.
Well if you replaced everything near the wheels to do with braking the only thing left is the lines. I have no clue how to "ckeck" if they are plugged or what not. If it was me, i would take the whole line outon the passanger side and blow it out, or new a whole new one. Maybe you have a bad joint some place bleeding air into the lines, or just accepting dirt into the lines. Sounds fishy to me! Do yo have ABS?
