Ok so for the past few months my dad has been saying that after a while of using the stock radio/CD Player, eventually the playback just stops. The radio tho is still on. Soooo today we bought a new aftermarket radio with a CD player. I installed it and stuff. The radio worked fine for a while, but when I went to test the CD player, I was not getting playback at all. Then soon after I realized the sound to the radio wasn't working either once in a while. So I let it sit there and I wait for it to come on. All of a sudden the sound came back on. Spending an extra hour and a half mopre than neccessary...I got frustrated and took it to my Dakota. I plugged it in and EVERYTHING worked fine. So what's wrong with my dad's 2002 Dodge Ram, exactly?
then you either have to bypass the amp or buy a wiring harness that can include the amp
Yea...why would I need to do this if the system and the original radio was stock? I would imagine everything would be hooked up right to begin with. I already have a wiring harness for the aftermarket radio. With the radio stock I was having problems, and so was the aftermarket radio.
You could have a grounded speaker wire..but it seems unlikely with all stock stuff still in there and the vehicle is not that old. With the afermarket radio you need to hook up the remote turn on lead to the blue/white wire on the factory harness adaptor.
On the factory harness there is no extra wire to plug in the blue/while wire. All the wires from the factory harness, to the sony adapter are connected. Which are all positive, ground, and speaker wires.
