I have my antenna mounted to top rail on bed centered on the rear sliding window. It is routed under carpet thru 4x4 shifter under cab and secured under there. I forget what brand but is black and 3 feet or so long maybe more.

A guy like 30 minutes from me up the road designed custom brackets that mount on the bed rails near the cab. He had a company manufacture them for jeeps to start with, but modified them for dodge. You just tighten up two bolts to clamp to the bed rail (right behind the cab) and your all set. Zip tie the the wire under the truck and bring up to the firewall and push out that foam block on the right hand side. Take a razor blade and cut a "+" into it, and push that connector through. Bring it down behind the dash down to the center concole. I set up my friends and threw a 3ft wilson up, I love those tune tips!!!! plus the reception is great. I got his swr 1:1 Running barefoot. I stole my dads k40 and threw it on my 66 mustang with the trunk lip mount. a low sitting car with a 5ft metal whip, looks sweet. Almost looks like a big RC car.

pics. the idea here was to mount the antenna seperate from the tool box, so the box can come off as needed and leave the cb antenna on.
