How hard is it to install A Ring&Pinion set

Default How hard is it to install A Ring&Pinion set

Well I changed my Diff oil in the rear becuase i started to notice a clunking noise, and come to find out I borke two teeth off the pinion and 1 off the ring. so i am going to order a set, but my ? is how hard is it to install dont you have to do a special measure. i think i can get them in I just dont know about measuring them and adjusting them any help would be apprecative

If you haven't replace them before there some tools you'll need. In most cases the dealer have those tools.

And the dealer will charge you $800+ to do it. Get a ring and pinion from www.ringpinion.com or www.completeoffroad.com and do it yourself. They come with really really detailed directions. You might have to buy a dial indicator but its way cheaper then a shop doing it.
