Part throttle operation is how your engine is operating more than 90% of the time on the road, even if you 'hammer it' at nearly every opportunity.

bolt ons have only a psychological effect.
4) Alot of guys really look forward to that 1% of the time, and want lots of air flow to make lots of hp
when they get to spend that time.

If you want a vehicle that is as close to 100% efficient as practically possible, then buy your choice of car or truck and leave it like it sits.

If you are one of the people listed in #4, then the Fastman or Hughes TBwould be a good choice.

50mm for the 318

These are good common sense comments. I believe the "psychological effect" is the biggest factor. There are some physical laws in this world related to the function of an engine and they apply the same to everyone.
Analogy: What if I say walking up stairs is easier than walking down stairs. Maybe I'm in good shape or I like the challenge or I just like going up. Doesn't matter, gravity causes walking up stairs to be more difficult than walking down and that applies to everyone.
But, I still "feel" better walking up. Does that make walking up better?
