rotational squeek.. really wierd
after my truck sits for a few hours.. and i start it up and start driving i can hear a loud distinct squeek.... after a few miles of driving itll stop and go away... while its sitting at work all day i get back in it and it does it again and a few miles later it goes away again.. i looked underneath and theres nothing hanging to touching my tires/wheels/driveshaft or anything.. ive heard this before in other vehicles and i never figured out what it was.. was wondering if anyone else could help me out here... im thinking it may be a bearing of some sort.. but not sure where .. i know is coming from the mid area-to the back.. so i could be anything for the tranny tail shaft output to the pumpkin input to the wheels.. not sure...
if anyone has any thoughts ..id appreciate it!

RE: rotational squeek.. really wierd
I just noticed I have the same kind of rotational squeek, I jacked up
the back end and put the truck in neutral and spun the rear tires, you
can hear the squeek come and go. I crawed underneath and spun the tire,
and it sounds like the squeek is coming from the rear end and or
driveshaft area. The u-joints seem tight, I checked the fluid in the rear
end it is coming out of the hole when I open it up. So that should be ok.
Did your squeek ever go away???? Or did something break?
