i have noticed if i try to get my truck to get up and go it has no power at all and when it is moving if i push the gas pedal all the way to the floor it cuts out. i mean it will shift down but does not have the power my regular cab dodge had it also was a 2001 and i never had a problem with power
any suggestions.

No, that isn't normal.

What do you want me to tell you, I get tired of saying it...
Change and replace all of this if it hasn't been done lately or you're not sure:
Oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter, pcv valve, breather cap, spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
And dammit get high performance parts, spend 3-400 and no more problems for some time.

There is no fuel filter to change, it is all part of the fuel pump assy. There is a possibility that one or more injector inlets is clogged and/or the fuel rail. That's common on these trucks.
