what does it mean when your motor is ticking.

could be rockers.. (most audible) could be a arc from a bad wire/plug/distributer i got one now i cant find for the life of me.. its more of a snap and everytime it hits the motor pukes and stutters ... but its so random the computer cant register it as a misfire ...PITA

Depends on where it's coming from. Other common possibilities could be bad lifter or an exhaust leak.

It sounds like its comming from the trans. I also notice a whine/suction noise thats not the air intake noise but sounds similar, when im either extreemly light throttle or coasting. It also chatters at idle. sounds like a loose heat shield
