I doubt you will be taking v8 mustangs with those mods...

You have to realize the ram is made to haul, and the mustang is made to go... Ram is alot heavyer too...

I know how you feel though... I have beaten many v6 "sport" cars...
Ok. heres waht happend... My frined got a 1999 v6 cougar... I thought he would take me, but I wanted to race him just for the hell of it... we raced and I won... we took it too about 100mph too... Made me kinda feel good that my 5000 some odd lbs truck just beat a 2300 some odd lbs car...

So... that night I was bored, and I called up some people to race... I beat a mid 90's v6 mustang, lebaron gtc, and a few other cars that I *thought* should beat me, anyways my friend gotta 2000 v6 ford exploder... I bet him 10 bucks I would smoke his ****... hahaha HE WON... I was soo embaressed to get get by a damn ford EXPLODER... Watch out for the 4.0l OHC exploders with them 5spd autos... they do suprisingly well... honestly he pulled just as much distance from me as my frineds 04 5.7 hemi ram did...

anyways... Im not sure how I got off on that... but I hope you like your mods.

lol
sorry Ishouldn't laff. I have a 96 Ram extended cab, and a 98 Mustang v6. its interesting since I have the Mustang forum open on another IE tab.

I have both because of different purposes: (1) pace and (2) pull
racing? nah. that's dangerous

be gentle

I say do what you can to improve what you got. Always. I put money into my old S-10 (before my Ram) and got some pretty good improvements out of its little engine. But... you got a lot of weight to move. Don't expect miracles either.

Add a Comp Cams Extreme Energy cam part number 20-746-9. You'll have to change your valve springs and get a computer tune, but there's where you'll see some real performance gains. Stock heads are pretty good, but R/T heads would be your next logical step. I have a similar set-up with mine(except my 5.9 is carbureted) and it made 397 hp @ 5300 rpm and 413 tq @ 4600 rpm w/o no2. That should give a mustang a run for its' money.
