I need a hotter coil & Ignition
you wont feel anything with an ignition upgrade... your motor will rev easier which is a sign of a change. when I did the msd setup that is what I saw... think about it, if your motor puts out 235 hp stock and you add a mod that adds 5 hp, where is it adding it?? (rpm) if it's below 2500 rpms you may benifit from it, if it's up high in the rpms, what good is it? getting on the freeway, romping on it etc, all counter productive for fuel economy.
the next thing to point out is that my truck which was a 2000 4x4 QC weighed 5000 lbs... 5000/235 = 21.3 lbs/hp... go to 240 and your at 5000/240 = 20.8 lb/hp(if the change is at it's peak), so looking at the #'s, you wouldnt expect to feel anything. wht you would feel however is if you boost your low/midrange power, look at t a dyno chart and you'll see what I mean. your low/midrange is where you drive your truck daily and will show the best performance improvement.

I have tried 5 different coils on a 1995 5.9V8
and found no measureable gains
over the stock ignition coil
or the equivalent NAPA replacement coil.
I can post a lot of engineering data on the coils' specs
if anyone can make use of it.
