Default Not cranking help

Hi, ok first I have a 2000 ram with the 5.9 and 120k miles. I went to start it and nothing justone click.after checking I found that I blew a fuse under the hood 20a starter sol fuse. replaced it same thing, I asked around someone told me the starter was bad. I took it up and had it tested it failed, bought a new one, put it on, same thing one click also I get a spark off the positive terminal of the battery. after the new starter I didnt blow a fuse but it still isnt spinning. The ground wire is good also the ingnition wire looks good. I am lost. thanks ahead of time for trying to help.

Take the battery out to have IT tested too. Or at least charge it and then try again.Or try a substitute. Double check all connections. That is, take 'em off and inspect/clean them don't just wiggle them to see if they are tight. I suspect a bad connection somewhere.

Try to turn the engine by hand, just to be sure the motor not sized. and with a test lite or a DVOM and test the pos cable, I have had 12v at the battery but I was getting 9v at the starter.

Ok, the new starter they gave me was the wrong one, I couldnt get the ground plug in good. So I exchanged it for the right one, put it in and it started like a champ. 15 min later I went to start it to go to the store and blew the starter sol fuse again, same problem I was having to begin with. I put a new fuse in and same thing. It maybe of to the shop because I need the truck by next weekend to haul my dirtbikes to the track and I cant figure it out. Thanks for the suggestions above.

OK I found out some more info on this. There is a service bullitin out to the dealerships about this.I had to order a jumper.there is a problem with the original equipment so thisconnects to the starter, then the ingnition and ground wire attatch to it. the other end connects to the battery with a 25a fuse between connections. So if anyone keeps poping the 20a starter fuse under the hood this is your fix.

you may want to clean you positive connection at the battery if you are getting a spark it means it is arcing and could be what it blowing your fuse. the other problem you also be giving you fits but I would clean and tighten that positive

the connection looks like brand new, it is something to do with a bad ground in the old harness
