Here's what I've understood from other posts about this. For the earlier gen II trucks, these plug in modules are a waste of money. The computer learns the new parameters from the module over time and you end up with what you had before you plugged it in. It requires a new burm to the computer or a mopar performance puter.

Indy, does the mopar perf mod force you to run high octane fuel all the time?

Aubrey
Need to run 92 with the performance pcm. I did fill my tank with 87 one time by mistake and got no ping. Usually I run 91 or higher on the street and at the track Sunoco 94 with a bit of VP110 mixed in.
I have heard of guys running 89 on a daily basis with no ill effects as well as others that even with 94 had ping. I suspect the guys with ping were on the verge prior and with poorly maintained ignitions the aggressive timing of the perf pcm pushed them over the edge.

I just wish I had the bandwidth so that every time I got screwed over by some of these companies I could do a page called blank_sucks.com.

Maybe it wasn't the absolute funniest thing I've ever seen, but at the time I was LMAO.

Yeah one of the advantages of having 750gb per/month bandwidth I can put up what ever I want
Part of the reason I have a website is because of JET.When I made my first website at a freebie banner site (geo****ty) JET SUCKS is the first page I made after the index page. Didnt want to see anyone else sucked into buying it.

I still have that $500 (Cdn $ was worth dk when purchased) POS in my computer hutch as a reminder to always research a part before buying and dont take parts I know are questionable

Stay awy from the Jet. My 99 3/4 ton had one in it when I bought it. Like RM said, it puts a lot of stress on the connection at the pcm. Never did really snap in tight. I took it out. I could not tell a difference-AT ALL. I left it out for a few months and after having a new free flow muffler and converter installed I put it back in. Again-NO DIFFERENCE. I would be really PO's if I would have spent any money on this thing at all. My truck is really sluggish at take off anyway so I'm not sure if the Jet had anything to do with it or not. But hey, it does make a nice paperwight! Been wanting to try a Hypertec, but still not convinced it makes a noticeable difference. I would like to see a dyno test of the Hypertech and the Superchips vs. stock.
