Default 01 Ram quad cab 4X4....NO REVERSE...HELP

ok trans on this truck has been replaced or rebuilt like 4 times. i had it done twice. The first time the guy did a crap job. The second time it was replaced. Its a trans shop that specializes in dodge transmissions.Ok now to the problem. its happened 3-4 times in the last 7 months. i dont beat the truck and i dont really pull anything with it. I pulled in the driveway and parked it. Now it wont go into reverse. it doesnt move an inch and doesnt make any noises........... its like its in neutral.

anyone have any ideas? it has to be fixed pronto!

thanks all

jeff

ok i tried it today and ofcourse it worked! yep works fine now. where is this plastic bushig suppose to be? i was told a couple times that the reverse clutch/gear had broken but my trans fluid is good and does not smell or anything. perfect maint record on it so this is a big mystery.

Next time you loose reverse, take to the trans shop and have them hook up a preeure gauge to the reverse port. Line pressure in reverse should be around 220 PSI. If its under 100 psi you may have a seal leaking or case problem.

your reverse band could also not be adjust correctly or not on all the way ect. When they rebuilt the transmission and if they put the tranny in reverse before netural or drive the can cause the reverse band to come off the drum
