leaky axle........i think

Default leaky axle........i think

hey guys i jus noticed a couple days ago that there is fluid runnin down the back of my front tire and i checked it out and it looks like its comin outta the end of the axle (dana 60) and i was wonderin what that seal is so i can go git one and git her fixed up and how hard it would b to change it thanks

Axle seal, thats all it is. Or you could call it an axle shaft seal

anywhere between 'not too bad' to a 'real mother'. depends on getting the sealed bearing assy out in one piece. see the tech article on pavement sucks here..

The seal is inside the axle tube housing, you have to remove the axle and maybe the carrier assy too. there a long seal installer tool you will need.

You have to remove the axle? WTH? Are you kidding me? Deffenitially don't, its really as simple as the Pavement sucks write up, and you don't need any fancy tools. Just some creativity.

Since i don't use the right wording axle vs axle shaft, I guess and telling you tools that you may need and advise, I will be logging off your forum and my 20 years of dodge trainning and 35s year overall. Good luck to you all.
