Default New set of Tires

I am looking to put 285/60r16 tires on my 1999 Dodge Ram Sport, along with this new 8" rims.

Questions,

Would there be an issue putting a 11" wide tire on an 8" rim?

What should I look for in regard to drivability? 285 vs the stock 265 width?
These new tires will be replacing the origianal tires, 265/75r16's

Has anyone ran into issues with rubbing?

Thanks

Shouldn't be any problem with the rim size. I run 285/75 on my 16X7 inch rims no problem.

I ran 305/70/16s on mine without any problems. You won't spin the tires so much since you'll have a larger contact patch.

285/60r16.s are actually going to be slightly smaller then your stock 265/75r16...but they will be alot wider.....and the 11 inch widetire and the 8" wide rim is perfect match...if you go with a 285/75r16 then you'd be going up a couple of sizes...almost a 33" tire...and you shouldn't have an issue with rubbing

Thanks,

The truck is 2WD, would not be my first choice. But the truck was for the most part free . And being a 99, it has low milage. at the momnet it just broke 37,000 miles

The Plan is to do a 2"/4" drop
Truetrac Differential
minor enine mods (air box, ..
Header / Dual exhuast
Suspension work.

Looking to turn the work truck in to a something fun.
