I got a new California EmissionsCat for $265 and that included installation. It took 20 minutes for the muffler shop to take out the old one and weld in the new one. Did it on my lunch break.

yeah, it was quick. when i was getting it replaced, the lift next to mine had a 1991 miata on it. they dropped a 302 under the hood, and just finished up the exhaust. that thing looked sick!
