A rear 4X4 tranny seal,not 2x4.You can do the transfer case too.4 bolts on the seal housing and work if off with a screw driver.Scrape the silicone off the seal housing and front of transfer case,install the new seal,run a bead of silicone and install the housing.The housing has to go on one way,so look for the line-up oil hole on transfer case and seal housing(pretty straight forward).

 

Just get a seal kit for the New Venture 231 and you'll be good to go.

Did it this evening. Most time was taking out the transfercase bolts. But the seal for the transmission was right there. Popped it out then the new in. Put in a net transfercase input seal and bolted it back up. Tricky getting the tcase bolts out. But we got it. Thanks for your help.
