Cap and Rotor Question?
thanks for all the info and help guys
but the problem just isn't going away.
i am gonna get it into the shop soon
i'll let you know what they find out .
i pulled everything off the truck this morning and then put it back on
like the TB completely off and cleaned it then the cap and rotor and all wires
to make sure they were tight and in the correct spots and routes
i replaced the IAC , CAP , ROTOR , Cleaned TB, looked for plenum gasket leaks
and none found. only thing i found was my air filter gasket is broken and being held to gether with Duct tape.
thanks again DF

ok i can try that i mean the old cap got water in it and was rusting on the contact points
should i use a file and get the rust off of them ? i can always try the old rotor on the new cap
or the new rotor on the old cap either way it will save me some money if it fixes the problem
i'll give that a try in the morning. Then i will post the outcome

Yes you can use emory board to remove the rust. I used to do that on some other cars I had.
Do the rotor thing to that's ok.
Visualy look at your new cap. When I was in the auto parts business 100's of years ago, I sold a guy a cap for a new engine he was building, the engine would not crank. Come to find out someone or somehow each contact inside the cap was coated with wax. [sm=confused06.gif]

the new cap looks like there are grooves being cut into the contact points i tried new cap old rotor and still does the same thing
so i am gonna go try old cap and new rotor ,and then if that fails old cap and old rotor just so i can say i have tried everything.

well i did the code thing and it showed a P0113 something to do with an air sensor
so i am gonna check that out first then go onto other stuff because thats the code i am getting.
but i will look into the wires if that doesn't cure the problem
thanks Fox
