need help with 95 ram 1500 5.2l
Recently bought it....and this weekend the gauges, gauge lights and rear tail lights stopped working. The truck runs fine and my father in law says that the fuses are fine.....i would check but im 120 miles away and cant get away.
im not trying to sound like an *** but are you sure each fuse is fine did you test each one for contanuaty (wow i really need to learn to spell) in both the junction box and the PDC? cuz if so sounds like you have a bad harnes or something somewhere for it to cut out your gauges and tail lights id doubble check all fuses (pull each one out and test it) and if they are good chech all your grounds battery, frame firewall, under dash ect make sure there all making good conection, bad grounds can do wierd things...
ryans590....i cant say for sure as I am 120miles away for work....and dont get much time off. My father in law is a mechanic and I was told by my fiance that he checked them all and that they were all fine. Also the ABS and brake lights are on.
wow i honestley dont even know where to start, was the truck by chance out 4x4ing when this happened? umm for the abs light and gauges not working you could try the rear speed sencer (on the rear axle) that is a commom thing to go,
Na from what the fiance said she was just driving down the road. Its a 5.2l extended cab non 4X4. She said the lights went first, then a couple hours later the gauges stopped working. The CEL had turned on friday afternoon, but turned back off.

A broken wire or a plug that has come undone would be the top suspect.
On a 1995 Ram with its older OBD-I
computer the gauges are all still
'stand alone' and run without computer help.
On later 1996+ Rams with OBD-II computers
it is different.
