Horsepower/Track Times with only bolt ons?
Well I just bought a 1996 Dodge Ram Indy all stock.
I am ordering the following : - Edelbrock performer intake manifold
- Cold Air Intake
- Shorty Headers (ceramic coated and will heat wrap them)
- True Dual 3 inch exhaust
- Want to put some type of rear end gears in the rear (4.10s or 4.55s)
- Aluminum Drive Shaft
- Stiffer Suspension
- And a chip.
What kind of gains am I looking at? and do these trucks/engines respond well to modifications?

96 only the Indy available. 97/98's when SST came out. (due to Indys success)
Should see 1-1.3 second of 1/4mile ets roughly.
If you want to see what individual bolt ons may reduce ets by check out this page

Also I should be into the 15's or 14's with that combo I listed?
Thanks & welcome aboard btw
Et reductions will vary depending on parts used and how they are installed.
Stock Indys will usually run between 16.0-16.2 ets below 1000' (asl) You can expect to see around 15.0 or just under if at low elevations.
Cold air kit, I prefer the Ramairbox from http://ramairbox.com/
Intake manifold, Mopar M1/2BBL is what most of us go with (on my 408)
Mid length or long tubes better than shortie headers. Have Edelbrock TES currently but switching to Pacesetter long tubes by years end. If you go with Eddy shorty headers, avoid the Tri Tech coating, its crap and a few members have had issues with it (rust spots after short time) My TES headers have been on for 10yrs without an issue (TES are a mid length hdr)
Chip, MP PCM or a B&G flash the way to go, avoid JET at all costs. Ive tried all 3 plus SMT6 (piggy back laptop tuning) and now going to FAST stand alone (full eng mngmnt)
I would go with lighter rims/tires before adding an alum driveshaft, not much weight savings on the shaft TBH. Stock Indy rims with the stockGYE GTIIs tip the scales at 66lbs each.
Belltech 2x4 kit with springs will firm things up a bit and get her sitting a bit lower (handles better/lower drag coeff)

Wow I really appreciate that post, now the truck is going to be my DD but I want it to be able to eat up all the damn Ford Stangs out on the road lol so many of them around here it isn't even funny, now with that ramairbox I can run some type of tubing/hoses of some sort down to the front bumper right?
My pics n slip pages on my site shows year over year changes and effects on ets, some of the info maybe usefull to you. Also mytech area has some of my installs including the ramairbox. I had mine ducted from the bumper foglight openings for the last 4yrs I ran it..
Just gave the box to a good buddy to put on his insane na 408 Indy (HP Indy in my Visitors Parking)

i have most of those and im at 15.3s at the track, but taht was with improper fuel managment. o2s were placed wrong, and were not reading much at all, now i have the front o2 in the header, and a sim on the rear and i feel im going to hit 14s at the next run.
the mods i have are in my sig.
i already eat up stock GT's (of the previous gen, and foxes) since you seem to be concerned about stangs...arent we all.
click my sig for my cardomanin link (not horribly up to date, but still decently updated) for my mods and such.
RM, you said a stock indy at or near sea lvl stock will hit 15.0? did you mean break 15s or actually 15.0? if thats the case, im running really slow my track is approx 55ft above sea lvl.
