check to make sure all your connections are correct (like you stated) and then make sure you dont haveany touching each other somewhere. Lastly, i doubt this is it, but check the ground.

This info is quite helpful. Although, a much worse incident has happened to me a month ago. My fuse mustve blown, but so didn't my radio. I was on a 2 hour trip away from home. 15mins from my destination, I was jamming with my radio on and it zizzled, then I heard a loud POP, then another POP. Next thing ya know, I've got smoke rolling out of the power **** to my radio, then out my window vent dash. It was a very scary moment. Once everything cooled down, I took out the two fuses that went to my radio, now I've got to figure out how to get the power amp fuse out because I'm still smelling the hot rubbery smell while driving. It's got to be the power amp fuse still trying to give power to my radio. All else fails, I've set up a diagnostic apt for Monday at a local Dodge Dealership that's going to cost me $125 or more. I'm praying I don't have extensive electrical problems beyond my radio.
