auto trans linkage broke in column
I have an 01 dodge 4x4 1500 5.2L with an auto trans. The shifter will move the linkage past the indecater cable on the colmn but the linkage on the colmn past the firewall will not move using the shifter handle .I pop the hood and shift the linkage by hand. Could there be an simple fix for my problem?
Probably not. When I researched getting parts to rebuild my steering column (see cricket noise thread ), ther was just one part I found. It was a aftermarketbushing that was supposed to tighten up the play that the factory bearings had. Otherwise, the steering column is one part, and, IIRC, it costs like $700.

Is there a flour shifter made for for this truck?

that floor shifters actually kinda cool.. that trucks obviously not 4x4 though... would that make it harder to install with 4 wheel drive?

It's ordered. It will ship on Monday and get here on Wednesday (if ground from Summit holds to what it always has been). I'll do it either Friday or Saturday. I have learned from a extremely competent source, that it will work great. The operation is almost identical to that of the Autostick that DC has been using of late. The main difference being; the Autostick does 1-D side to side electonically, and the B&M shifter does 1-n front(+) to rear(-) mechanically.
Thanks to smasters for bringing this one back to the frontal mod lobe. I researched this a while back and let it go. My thinking was/is that, since DC is the only "used to be domestic" manufacturerthat has not come off thier pcm code or released anything, publically or otherwise, to allow the actual owner of thier product to manipulate certain parameters, this would be one step in three.
three steps being:
1) fuel
2) timing
3) shift points
