i have a 2001 3\4 ton dodge diesel 24 valve cummins. coming home from work in about a 8 mile distance my truck lost power 4 times. there was no acceleration when i put the pedal to the floor,it only lasted for about 5 to 10 seconds at the most.the truck now has a 0216 code, does that mean the injector pump is already bad or could i just replace the lift pump?

I hate to tell you this, but it's my understanding that a P0216 code is considered a "death code" on these trucks.
I can cry with you; I think my injector pump died yesterday on my way to work. I don't have a way to pull codes, but my fuel pressure dropped to 0 and she quit. Put a new fuel pump on it and bled the system but I have no fire at all. This wasn't in my current budget plans...
