removing tie rod ends
ok, i got the one that runs from the driver's side to the main tie rod off. the end connected to the steering box is stuck. any ideas to get it out? (i have already unloaded a good amount of lube, p/l, and even tried to jack it out.) and a hammer didn't help much!
your not trying to keep them right, use a pintle fork hammer it in between the pitment arm and drag link hammer it in as hard as you can then use the hammer and hit the stud but not too hard or the pintle fork will pop out
how are you rebuilding them? is there some kind of rebuild kit? (i havent herd of one is why im asking i though they were one piece, end and rod, and had to replace the hole peice)
a pintle (pickle) fork will wreck the boots other than that it wont harn the rods them self so if you dont need the boots then use that otherwise try a small gear puller, 3 finger or there is a special tool made to take them off too

As for removing them, it is easier if you either buy or rent a tie-rod puller. Crank it down until there is a mild amount of pressure and the gently rap the steering knuckle with a medium ball peen hammer. She'll pop right out.
I used a gear puller and a pickle fork when I did mine. The gear puller won't destroy the boot, but IF you are rebuilding them using a Luke Link, then you don't need the boot anyways.
