That sounds sweet. it will look good too. I had the stock cat replaced with the Magnaflow Hi-flow unit as well. The shop i went to quoted me 475$ for an OEM replacement until i told him about the Hi-Flow/ODBII compliant unit from Magnaflow. i got it for 220$I think its a bit cheaper online but with shipping, would be pretty close in price. it does seem to breath alot better and sounds healthier too but it didnt make it scream.. Also had a TransGo shift kit installed.It's a mild kit that shifts pretty mildly when I,m not standing on it but when i do, it shfts pretty sharply. Doesn't help that I'm running 33's with 3.55s and RockCrawler steel wheels. Not a street truck so i didnt expect much..

 

Yeah I know what you mean. This truck I just picked up has 35" tires, there rediculous, but the thing still ****in hauls *** like crazy and it doesnt even have anything done...YET lo!

 

Well now its time for you to let us hear what your truck sounds like with the super 44's. I'm planning on replacing my entire exhaust here sometime. I'm thinking of putting pacesetter headers and then a magnaflow hi flow cat and a super 44 muffler with dual exits.

 

True that! That's exactly what I'd like to do after i getthe magnaflow cat and flowmaster 44 set-up on is the header. I just cant live with them hideous stock manifold ****!

Yea, the first time I popped the hood at the dealership, the first thought that ran through my mind was replacing those headers. I can't stand to look at those things. About a week and a half ago, I cracked the weld that connects my cat to the rear pipe and when I had it fixed I saw the pipe thatruns from my left header to my cat andI could have killed someone. I got a dent on that pipe thats about 2 1/2inches long and almost wraps around half the pipe. So yea, its blocking some air flow I need to replace that asap.The only thing is, I haven't been able to deside on a dual entry cat or getting a custom y pipe made.

 

Hmm..Ever consideredrunning a true dual off the headers? Just use 2 1/4" piping so you don't lose torque. My brother ran a true dual with 2 1/2 piping and ran it into 2 cat, and two super 44 mufflers. Sounds so mean!!

 

He got away with running 2 1/2 piping though because he has a 7.5 Liter v8, 460 big block, so it didnt effect it's torque at all. But with trucks our size, I think 2 1/4" piping would be appropriate. A true dual would be my dream, but right now it's just too much money, I wouldnt want to run a true dual unless I had headers though, it'd be sillyto butt up against stock manifolds, but if you get headers, I think it's only worth it to invest in running a very nice breathing machine that offers enough scavening so you dont lose that torque, yet still provided tremendous gains across the powerband and tremendous ear deafening noise lol!

 

I've thought about it a lot but then wouldn't that set something off with emissions and what not? (no, I don't know that much about exhaust systems yet...)

 

I agree with you 100% on having a true dual and I'd love to have one myself because I'm getting real sick of these ricer's driving around with their fart cans thinking they're all big and mighty.
