O2 sensor issues

O2 sensor issues
Ok,
Here is the deam. I have a 2000 Ran with a 5.2/ About a month ago it started throwing codes P0132, P0135, P0138 for the O2 sensors being bad. I have now replaced both O2 sensors, ()upstream bank 1 sensor 1, and downstream bank 2 sensor 2), and drove it around probably 40 miles or so after clearing the codes with the ODBII scanner I have. Now its showing the exact same codes again, and the truck bucks and spits when you take off from a dead stop. ANyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this? I have to drive the truck for work every day and gas is killing me, so I would like to get this crap figured out soon.
Thanks,
Gene

RE: O2 sensor issues
not sure y this would effect the 02 sensor, but checkto make sure the wires are correct (sure they are but doesn't hur to check). Make sre you have a good connection to the cap. That might be your problem w/ the stuttering off the line. also, what plugs did you use? might not be the right temp plug. Search plugs to learn more about that. As far as the o2 sensor, are you sure its the sensor? Is your cat good. if not it will throw the code. thats what its there for. How many miles do you have on the cat? They are know to go bad. Search cat to find out exactly how to check to see if its bad (besides hitting it). Hope this helps.

RE: O2 sensor issues
P0135 is a O2 heater fault I think. Seeing as you have replaced both sensors I would suspect wiring to the heater circuit or heater relay failure. If the heater is not working the O2 sensors give a false rich reading because they are too cold. Especially at idle. They are common to corrode at the splice that runs down theRight side of the vehicle. Tug on the wires going to the front sensor and see if you can pull one out of the loom. That will be the broken one. Sorry can't remember wire colours.

RE: O2 sensor issues
Its starting to spit and sputter taking off from a dead stop after its warmed up now, so I am thinking its the catalytic converter. I havent heard any rattling from it, but I havent gotten underneath and checked it out either. I will check it tomorrow and also check the wiring for the O2 sensors and their respective fuses.
