Honestly, I don't get hacked off at all by poor grammar/spelling from adults. Life's too short for that kind of nonsense, so long as I get the meaning more or less, that's all that really matters. Most adults have had to cometo grips with an electronic world; kids don't know any different. I know kids that can type over a hundred words a minute (some on their Cell phones). I lost a job as a college kid because I couldn't type fast enough.

With kids, I get on them about their spelling and grammara little.I do feel an obligation to teach them the correct way to speak, write, etc. If they stray from that, hopefully it won't beso far offthat the rest of the worldcan't catchonto them.

You know, teaching really isn't that bad if you enjoy it.There's a lot made about bad kids and teachers, but that's really onlyabout1%. The rest is really pretty easy, and fun. You just can't get too hung up on the 1% and miss the 99%.

The one thing I do worry about is the LOL, ROFL, RME nonsense. Some times the texting slop gets in their day to day vocab. But then again we've got CAI, TB, LSD, andsuch.

You know it's gone off the deep end when Juan Pablo Montoya is referred to as "JPM". [sm=grin.gif]
