i think the stock is autolite 5224. some use 3923 which is a copper plug and one heat range cooler (slight reduction in tendency to ping). i really don't think it makes much difference. i think with wires you get what you pay for. i've got premium wires about $50/set, can't remember what size.

We were debating on another thread whether this was the same concept as the MSD ingition system in a different package. But at $200 a plug change, the MSD system would pay for itself in 2 tuneups.

If you don't have any performance mods in your engine, the Champion stock plugs will work great. I would recommend going to a larger diameter plug wire though ( from 7 mm to 8mm ) It'll hold and transfer your spark better. Also when purchasing a cap and rotor, spend a couple extra bucks and get the ones made with copper instead of the cheap ones. You'll be happy you did.

Don't waste your time and money on trendy items. That's all they are and usually they are way too expensive to get a return on your money.

Now if you want to upgrade your ignition and boost performance then you can start talking about the Autolite 3923's, MSD or Taylor 8.5 mm wires, and complete MSD6* ignition system with MSD Blaster2 coil. These things together will definitely improve your spark, but they will cost you a few bucks.
